Registration opens other doors
After moving in, family members normally complete Anmeldung within the local deadline. The registration certificate is commonly requested in later residence and everyday administration. Make sure every family member’s name appears correctly.
Contact the health insurer promptly. For statutory insurance, ask whether non-working family members qualify for Familienversicherung and which civil-status evidence the fund requires. Private arrangements need an individual review.
Residence follow-up
Check the visa sticker’s expiry and conditions immediately. Do not wait until the final weeks to investigate the local residence-title procedure. Some cities use online submissions before offering an appointment; others publish different channels.
Keep digital copies of submissions and appointment confirmations. Add school or Kita contact, tax-class questions and banking to the household plan, but avoid sending sensitive identity files through ordinary enquiry forms.
